A bit about how this business came to be… He's been working on a variety of rubs for use at home and had spent months tweaking and refining his chicken wing rub before he was willing to share it with the masses.
A bit about how this business came to be… He's been working on a variety of rubs for use at home and had spent months tweaking and refining his chicken wing rub before he was willing to share it with the masses. He didn’t think it was out of control or an obsession, but family and friends were starting to cluck after eating chicken wings at his place most weekends! When he decided to put a team together and compete in their first-ever BBQ competition in 2018, He thought it would be the perfect opportunity to gather feedback from other teams, mentors, caterers and sponsors on his rub to see if it really was as good as he'd thought. The result was a resounding success with loads of positive feedback, commonly including things like “Where and when can I buy it?” and “Can I have some more wings?” He was also crowned with the (unofficial) title of “The Wing King” – So after loads of R&D into packaging and production requirements, refining the recipe to match that final batch now that he'd changed to a “proper” supplier of ingredients (rather than the supermarket) Johnny Mac’s Crazy Chook was finally launched. There are plenty more products in the works, so be sure to keep track of things on socials, and get in touch with any feedback or suggestions you may have.
