Smoked Spicy Pulled Pork

Rub Ingredients:

  • Pork shoulder or Boston Butt
  • 1 tablespoon coarse salt
  • 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon chilli flakes
  • Shredded cabbage
  • Mini hamburger buns​

Sauce Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups apple cider vinegar
  • ¾ cup cold water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar or to taste
  • ½ cup apple juice
  • 1 tablespoon chilli flakes
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon coarse salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper​

Procedure:

  • Rub the pork shoulder in the rub ingredients until fully covered.
  • Place in smoker at 225° Fahrenheit and use chunk of cherry wood.
  • When the internal temperature hits 160° Fahrenheit, wrap the pork shoulder in foil, adding ¼ cup apple juice.
  • Place back in the smoker and when 205° Fahrenheit.
  • Then all done.
  • Pull pork apart and add sauce ingredients until pork slightly moist. Add to roll with cabbage.​

HOT TIP:

Use a digital thermometer to constantly monitor the internal temperature of the meat so you can track whether your meat will be ready on time.
