Cyprus Spits For Authentic Souvla In Your Own Backyard

There's nothing like the smell of souvla turning slowly over hot charcoal. A Cyprus spit brings traditional Cypriot BBQ to your backyard. Big chunks of lamb, pork or chicken turn on long skewers until they're crispy outside and juicy inside. It's the kind of cook that gets everyone out of the house and around the fire.

Also known as a Cyprus grill, Cypriot souvla BBQ or foukou, a Cyprus spit rotisserie is a long charcoal BBQ with motorised skewers running across it. Load it up, let the motors do the turning, and spend your time with your guests instead of standing over the coals.

One Charcoal BBQ, Plenty Of Ways To Cook

A Cyprus spit is popular because one unit does so much. Depending on the model, you can:

  • Spit roast souvla and souvlaki on different skewers at the same time
  • Stack gyros on the top skewer with gyros discs for a homemade souvlaki night
  • Tumble wings, potatoes or veggies in a rotisserie basket
  • Grill steaks, snags and seafood over charcoal like a regular BBQ
  • Raise or lower the heat by adjusting the height, so you stay in control of the cook

A family dinner or a backyard feast for 40, a Cyprus spit BBQ handles both without breaking a sweat.
