In this comprehensive guide, we will answer all of your questions about spit motors! We'll discuss what they are, how they work, and why you need one for your next outdoor cookout! So, let's get started!

Spit rotisserie motors are electric motors that are specifically designed to rotate a spit skewer. The spit skewer is what holds your meat/vegetables in place as it cooks over an open fire. Spit motors come in a variety of sizes and weight capacities. Depending on what you are cooking and the size of your spit skewer.

Most spit motors have a one-speed setting, this setting turns your meat at around 3-6 RPM. However variable speed motors are available that allow you to rotate your meat slower or faster depending on what you are cooking. For example, you may want to cook gyros on a spit rotisserie a little faster so the fat and oil baste the meat when spinning.

Spit motors work by attaching to the spit skewer and turning it at a consistent speed. This ensures that your meat cooks evenly on all sides. It also prevents your meat from burning or drying out. Spit motors run on electricity, so you'll need to have access to an outlet in order to use one.
