Asian fusion flavour for the barbecue

Most barbecue rubs stick to the same sweet and smoky script. This one takes a different road, pairing a traditional salt, pepper and sugar base with Japanese togarashi and ginger. The result is familiar enough for the backyard, but different enough that the family notices.

• Turbinado sugar: adds a gentle sweetness that balances the salt and spice.
• Kosher salt and black pepper: a solid savoury base that seasons the meat properly.
• Togarashi and ginger: the Asian twist that sets this rub apart from your usual barbecue blends.
• Garlic powder and coriander: round out the flavour so it works on everything from steak to prawns.

Cooking with Q-Nami rub

It's a rub that doesn't stay parked at the barbecue. Season your meat or seafood before it hits the heat, or use it to lift a quick midweek dinner. A shaker of Q-Nami rub on the shelf gives you one easy answer to what to cook tonight.

• Chicken, pork and beef: a savoury, lightly sweet crust with a bit of Asian character.
• Seafood: brings out the best in prawns and salmon without overpowering them.
• Pasta and noodles: try it in a prawn pappardelle or a salmon and noodle bowl.
• Salads: a sprinkle through a Thai beef salad adds depth and a little heat.

Real ingredients, nothing else

Lane's is upfront about what goes in the jar, and just as clear about what stays out. There's nothing in this blend to bulk it up or keep it free-flowing, just spices and seasoning that pull their weight.

• Gluten free: suits gluten free cooks and mixed households alike.
• All natural ingredients: real spices and seasoning with no artificial additives.
• No fillers or anti-caking agents: you pay for flavour, not bulk.
• No preservatives: nothing added beyond the six listed ingredients.
