Power Your Roast with a Heavy-Duty Gas Spit Rotisserie

A gas spit roaster brings power, precision and performance to your outdoor cooking setup. Designed for consistent heat and long, slow roasts, these rigs make it easy to cook large cuts or whole animals with confidence. No need to constantly manage charcoal or stoke a fire. Just fire up your gas and let the spit do its thing.

At BBQ Spit Rotisseries, we stock spit rotisserie gas models that are made to handle serious roasts while keeping things simple. If you want set-and-forget spit roasting with full control over temperature, gas is the most convenient way to go.

Cook Whole Lambs, Pigs, and Large Cuts Effortlessly

Got a big event or family gathering coming up? A gas spit is perfect for cooking large quantities of meat all at once. From roasting a whole lamb, a full pig, or multiple chickens and roasts, these heavy-duty machines are built to carry the load.

Gas-powered systems offer more consistent heat than charcoal, which means fewer flare-ups and an even cook. That’s especially important when you’ve got a full animal turning on the spit. You’ll still get those delicious crispy edges and juicy centres, just with way less work along the way.

Reliable Gas-Powered Spit Roasters for Serious BBQ Enthusiasts

We only stock gas spit roaster models we trust. Built from quality stainless steel and fitted with strong burners and reliable rotisserie motors, our range is designed for both backyard cooks and mobile caterers who want dependable results every time.

Many of our spit rotisseries come with height-adjustable skewers, removable drip trays, solid wheels for transport and powerful motors that can handle up to 60kg or more. Whether you're a seasoned pitmaster or upgrading from a smaller unit, you’ll find a gas spit that ticks all the boxes.

Gas Spit Rotisseries FAQ

Can I use charcoal and gas together? +

Both our Flaming Coals SPG 1000 & 1500 can use gas or charcoal however they work independently and cannot be used together.

Do I need a counter balance weight for my gas spit rotisserie? +

While it’s not essential to use a counterbalance weight, we HIGHLY recommend you do. Consider it an insurance policy on the health and longevity of your motor. A counter balance weight will stop the ‘flopping’ of the heavy side of the animal when spit roasting to ensure you have evenly cooked meat.

Will my standard BBQ gas bottle work on my gas spit rotisserie? +

Yes - the Flaming Coals Gas spit rotisseries are compatible with your standard LPG gas bottle.

Will gas or charcoal be hotter on my gas spit rotisserie? +

Charcoal will be much hotter than gas when cooking on your gas spit rotisserie. That is why it is important to purchase a gas spit roaster that has a hood to keep the heat in and around the meat you are cooking.

Will I use the hood on my gas spit rotisserie? +

Yes - you absolutely will. The advantage of having a hood and cooking will be a huge reduction in fuel consumption and reduction of your cook times. As mentioned above, gas does not get as hot as charcoal in a spit so it is important to have a hood that you can close to keep the heat in.

What accessories do I need for my gas spit rotisserie?+

The type of rotisserie accessories you need depends on what you are planning to cook. For full animals like lambs or pigs, we recommend a lamb prong pack that includes two large prongs, a back brace, a set of leg braces and a counterbalance weight. However, for smaller cuts of meat and chickens, a set of chicken prongs will suffice. If you want to make gyros, we highly recommend seasoning with yiros seasoning and using gyros discs as this will be much easier to carve against. Spit Roast Baskets are also another hugely important accessory that really opens up a lot of possibilities. They allow you to spit roast anything that can’t be put on a skewer, like fish, vegetables, pork belly etc.

What capacity motor will I need for my gas spit rotisserie? +

Our SPG1000 comes with a silent 10kg which is perfect for all your cuts of meat, gyros, vegetables and so much more. You can also upgrade your SPG1000 to the deluxe model which comes standard with a 22mm skewer and a 30kg motor, which is perfect for people who need a little more flexibility.
Our SPG 1500 comes standard with a 30kg motor, which in most cases will be 100% sufficient. However, if you are looking to spit roast really large animals we also have options for 60 or 100kg motors. The choice is totally up to you.
