The Pulse is not compatible with older FireBoard models (e.g. FBX11). It's designed to work specifically with the FireBoard 2 series. However, Fireboard have not ruled out adding this functionality in the future.
Does the Pulse work as a standalone device without a FireBoard?
Yes, the FireBoard Pulse can work as a standalone device by connecting directly to your smartphone via Bluetooth. However, using it with a nearby FireBoard 2 is recommended so that you can leave your grill/smoker unattended and use the mobile app on your smartphone to continue monitoring from anywhere.
Is the FireBoard app required to use the Pulse?
Yes, the FireBoard app is required to set up and get the most out of your Pulse. Currently, it's not compatible with third-party apps, but all features are accessible through the FireBoard app, ensuring a seamless and integrated experience. The FireBoard mobile app is free to download and use.
