This ripper little barrel smoker does everything a great smoker should do. the only issue I have is that the little air vent becomes loose after a couple of uses and you need to stick something in it to adjust the heating. (this happened with a mate of ours that inspired our purchase and our own). The shipping with BBQ Spit Rotisseries was sensational. I ordered this after lunch time the day before my boyfriends birthday (always doing things at the last minute). It arrived at about 4pm on the day of his birthday to our house in rural Victoria!

It is definitely solid and good quality

I've only used it a couple of times so far but I am very happy with it. It seems to maintain a constant heat, for my first go it was a bit north of 200C then settled down to about 180C for several hours. I cooked a whole chicken and it was perfect, still juicy but nice and brown on the outside. I think I will be able to use more or less charcoal to maintain a higher or lower temperature to suit my needs. I found it pricey at $600 plus $80 delivery, but it is definitely solid and good quality. I recommend the store too (BBQ Pit Rotisseries), they shipped when they said they would and delivery was within 5 days and I live in a semi-rural area.

The product is set and forget. If your new to smoking follow the videos on the Pit Barrel Cooker website and your food will be perfect every time. No requirement for a thermometer in the smoker just an instant read for the meat so you can check as you go. Happy smoking.
