A spicy BBQ sauce from Melbourne’s BBQ pioneers

Big Boy BBQ opened Melbourne’s first American style BBQ restaurant in 2011, and its sauces come straight out of that kitchen. Hot Boy is the spicy one in the range, made for people who want their barbecue to bite back a little.

• American style BBQ heritage: a sauce from a team that has been smoking and serving barbecue in Melbourne since 2011.
• Made to add spice: a simple way to turn up the heat on your barbecue without changing how you cook.

How Big Boy BBQ serves it

You don’t have to guess how this spicy BBQ sauce is meant to be used. At the restaurant, Big Boy BBQ puts Hot Boy on The Diablo, a chopped brisket burger loaded with jalapeños, toasted peanut chilli salsa, sour cream and coriander on a potato bun.

• Brisket burgers: follow the restaurant’s lead and pair it with chopped brisket.
• One for the adults: Big Boy BBQ’s own advice is to keep this one away from the kids.
