Be ready; this will permanently alter the way you make pizza. You only need your trusty barrel cooker and a cool beer; no fancy dedicated pizza oven is required.

YOU WILL NEED

THE PREP

Have you ever considered the possibility of smoking pizza on a smoker?

We're here to tell you that you should and can! You can simply make it work whether the pizza is one you bought from the store or one you created using homemade dough. Anything goes; your pit's cooking space is the only limit.

Spread some flour on the dish you'll be assembling the pizza on if you're creating your own. This will greatly simplify moving it and sliding it onto the barbeque grates.

On the other hand, if you choose the prepared alternative, remember to take off all of the packagings before placing it close to the heat. Oh, and this is a fantastic moment to personalise it! Desire a pizza with additional cheese? As much cheese as your heart desires may be added. Do you like your spice on? Dirty Bird Hot applied lightly will work.

THE COOK

Let's start cooking now! Make sure the grill grates are perfectly clean and preheat the pit barrel to a medium-high temperature. When the pizza is stuck after cooking, you don't want to rip it apart.

Place the pizza(s) when the pit is ready! From here, it's as simple as ABC; all you have to do is wait for the heat to do its job. No, stop peeking and stop stabbing the pizza with your fork. Just keep an eye on the dough as it rises until it becomes as crusty as you like.

THE PAYOFF

Bring the finished pizza inside, slice it up, and start serving right away! There's no use in letting it sit; you want the melted cheese to ooze from each piece.

That's all there is to it, really! We wish you a good time and look forwards to hearing what toppings you used on your smoked pizza.
